Senco PC1010 1-Horsepower Peak 1-Gallon Compressor
I already have an effective air compressor and so when a colleague made the decision to shop for a new one, he asked me to give him a hand in choosing one. He is aware that I really like to research the product thoroughly and make sure I compare the features and prices in advance of making a decision to get one.
There is no doubt that there are a lof of differences between the various portable air compressors. I found that they come along with different features according to their make as well as cost. The great saving I found relating to this particular portable air compressor was enough to tip the balance in its favor.
This is the resulting Senco PC1010 1-Horsepower Peak 1-Gallon Air Compressor review. Hopefully you will find this review and various other advice on the site handy.

The Quietest Air Compressor Around
If you are looking for the quietest (69dB) small (1 CFM) air compressor then look no further. Usually when you turn your compressor on you have to brace yourself for the loud noise but you will have to wait for ever for noise from the Senco PC1010. The phrase whisper quiet was written for this gem of an air compressor. Even when using on those hardwood floors where sound the sound usually gets amplified, you can still carry on a conversation or use a cell phone while it running. What a difference from the pancake compressors! If you imagine the sound of a refrigerator then it is about the same level.
Very Portable
How they managed to design a 1-gallon compressor weighing only 20 pounds is a mystery. Not only that but it still feels really solid. The carry handle is perfectly positioned so that it is nicely balanced and easy to transport. Being small of course means that the compressor will kick on quite often when you are using it. In spite of that some people actually use it with brad nailers but apart it seems to me it is more suited to light usage because the tank will empty fairly quickly with the bigger tools. But for the smaller compressed air tasks where portability is needed, the ease with which this unit can be carried makes it the ideal tool.
For the bigger projects where you need a constant supply of air such as the above-mentioned brad nailers you would want a more powerful compressor. But if you want a quiet air compressor that you can use in your home or take with you anywhere, generating a pressure up to 125 psi, the price is difficult to beat.
A Joy to Use – 5 Star Compressor
“What a pleaure to use” is the usual comment. Take the example of the contractor who normally runs Grex micro pinner, Senco 15 gauge trim gun and a Senco 18 Gauge nailer on work ranging from hanging and trimming doors/windows to crown mouldings and chair rail work. The compressor powers all three of his guns, one gun at a time. With the 15 Gauge nailer you do have to allow the compressor to refill after 5 or 6 shots but it is after all a 1 Gallon compressor. It only takes 30 seconds or so to come back up to full cutoff pressure (125 psi). It is a trade-off between power, portability, quietness and cost and the Senco PC1010 is the perfect match.
